Calibrate Network – Sara Davison ‘The Divorce Coach’

23rd March ‘21

Sara Davison, best known as ‘The Divorce Coach’ is an award-winning authority on break-ups, divorce and life empowerment. She works with men and women around the world to redesign their lives just the way they want them and transform tough times into a future they are excited to live.

An NLP Master Practitioner, qualified hypnotherapist and divorce coach trainer, Sara combines 25 years’ coaching experience together with her own personal experience of marriage breakdown to help clients cope with challenges including heartbreak, betrayal, conflict, confidence building, co-parenting, being effective in the workplace during divorce and dating again.

What’s keeping you busy?

Juggling my business and work life with my personal life! My most important job is Mum to my 12-year-old son and we have a new puppy Toffee to complete our little family! I have a large clinic, coaching clients facing breakup or divorce. I also train people to become Breakup and Divorce Coaches and have created a global coaching community spanning five continents. I am also the patron of The Dash Charity (domestic abuse stops here) and work hard with them to raise awareness of domestic abuse. I recently started training legal professionals how to spot the signs of domestic abuse with their clients. Having launched my podcast, Heartbreak To Happiness, in December last year, I produce three episodes per week for this.

What new ideas or opportunities are set to become part of your future business fabric?

I would like to continue growing my global brand to offer a wide variety of help and support to as many people as possible.  I am currently writing a new programme called “How to divorce a difficult person and recover from a toxic relationship.” I am also working on a few exciting projects, which I can’t talk about right now but I’m hoping will help people to cope better with breakups.

What are the biggest challenges you are facing right now?

Not enough hours in the day to do all the things I would like! I have so many ideas that all take time to implement so being patient and working through them one at a time is key – but I unfortunately I don’t have much patience. On a more serious note, I campaign to raise awareness and understanding of domestic abuse within the archaic UK family court system that all too often doesn’t recognise domestic abuse or the importance of training for all legal professionals. The slow-moving system is hard to change quickly and so this is a big challenge as so many people are negatively affected in the meantime. But we are making progress and I am hopeful that we can make some positive changes soon. There is also such a big demand for Breakup Coaching right now as the pandemic has caused a spike in divorces so we really need more Breakup and Divorce Coaches to help with the work load

Is there anything you know now that you’d wish you’d known at the start of your career?

Yes – lots! Some of the worst times in your life can actually, with hindsight, turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to you. It’s ok to be yourself – just the way you are – you don’t need to change anything to be successful – the trick is to find your passion and make it your day-to-day reality.

Who have been your most important professional mentors / influencers?

I have been lucky to work and train with some incredible people who have inspired me and also helped me to grow my business – Tony Robbins – US personal transformation coach, Paul McKenna, Richard Bandler – Founder of NLP, The Barefoot Doctor – healer and spiritual coach.

What keeps you motivated?

My purpose is to make a positive difference to others and this drives me more than anything else.

What inspires you?

I love reading books, watching movies or listening to podcasts about people who have overcome the harshest and toughest of times and turned their lives around.

If you could meet any one person (from history or currently alive), who would it be?

Mel Robbins is a motivational speaker in the US and she is trail blazing a path for female empowerment and getting the most from life. I would love to meet her as I am sure she would be super inspiring and a great dinner party guest! I love learning from the people I admire and I really admire her integrity and honesty that shines through in her work.
